Oyster’s ₹385 Cr Power Play: Winds of Change in Gujarat

Oyster Renewable Energy has officially entered Gujarat's green energy sector with the commissioning of a 52.8 MW wind power facility in Dayapar. Representing an investment of approximately ₹385 crore, this operational phase comprises 16 wind turbines and achieved commercial operations on July 30 following all necessary regulatory clearances.

This development marks the second phase of a larger 99 MW, 30-turbine wind project dedicated to Jindal Stainless (JSL), valued at ₹725 crore. The Gujarat wind site forms part of a broader 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid initiative for JSL, which combines 216 MW of solar capacity in Madhya Pradesh with 99 MW of wind in Gujarat. Construction is ongoing for the remaining 14 turbines, which will be brought online in phases. Upon full commissioning, the Gujarat facility will abate nearly 92,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
